Charge up with the Solar Tree

| July 26, 2012 |

We have seen a couple of variations of this new solar charging style recently, it’ a new method of harvesting solar electricity more efficiently, and was first thought of by a 13 year-old boy, last summer.

I remember seeing his home-made solar tree which was around 20-30 per cent more efficient compared with the traditional flat design, and thinking, that’s going to be in shops soon.

This new offering from brando looks to be pretty good value at $55, especially when you compare it with the very similar Electree, which costs $410. I must say the Electree does look a tad more stylish.

This USB Solar Tree comes with a 3,000mAh battery, which can be charged using the solar panels or AC power if need be.

The tree comes with a variety of connectors for all the major Smartphone out there, including Apple, Samsung, Nokia and HTC, there are nine in total.

You can purchase the tree over at Brando for $55 (£36), it weighs just 340g, and is super easy to put together, making it great for travel and camping trips.
