Playmaker Wireless Receiver from Bang & Olufsen

| July 23, 2012 |

When I think of Demark, two things come to mind, the first being Carlsberg, followed closely by the high-quality audio & video products from Bang & Olufsen.

They have just launched a new digital receiver, named the Playmaker, this little box is compatible with smartphones, tablets, PC’s, Mac’s and media servers, wireless options include both DLNA and AirPlay.

This means you can play high quality music from any smartphone on any of the active loudspeakers from the B&O range. The Playmaker can also be hardwired if desired.

This gadget would make a wonderful addition to the home audio system, especially if you already use B&O speakers, everyone can stream music from their devices, the volume can be controlled via your music player, the B&O remote, or the Playmaker itself.

The Playmaker connects wirelessly to your home router / network in seconds, there is a button located on the bottom of the receiver. Alternatively you can use the BeoSetup App to connect up.

The Playmaker is a small unit that can be tucked away neatly on a bookshelf or sideboard. You can get your hands on one at the end of July 2012, the price is $425, you can have the Playmaker bundled with the BeoLab 3 loudspeaker for $4310.
