P3 Headphones from Bowers & Wilkins Launched

| May 9, 2012 |

The P3 headphones from Bowers & Wilkins have been designed to produce a true natural sound. Technical innovations around the drive unit allow for a more detailed sound and have significantly reduced distortion.

The drive units on the P3’s have been built to provide the best sound possible from a small set of headphones. They have repositioned the terminals to the rear of the magnets, this makes sure air flows in a more uniform and linear manner.

To further reduce distortion and create a natural sound; they have used ultra-neodymium magnets in the voice coil and dampened the diaphragm using a technique known as constrained layer damped laminate.

The P3’s have been designed with maximum comfort and portability in mind; they are light and compact, constructed from durable rubber and brushed aluminium. They utilise a hinged design, this allows them to easily fold for storage in your pocket or bag.

They also come with a compact hard shelled carry case which is tough enough to keep them protected when in flight bags or backpacks.

The Bowers & Wilkins engineers have used an acoustic fabric which helps provide better base and noise isolation. The ear pads are made from heat sensitive memory foam, the pads will mould to the shape of your ears over time.

These headphones come with a handy remote and microphone on the cable, compatible with iPhones. You can also easily detach the supplied cable and use your own; perfect if you want to use them with a different smartphone or media player.

The new P3’s from Bowers & Wilkins will be available in two colour options; black or white. They will be released in June 2012, priced at £169.99 ($274).
