Motorized Stunt Kite

| April 26, 2012 |

This is an unusual type of kite, it has no tether and packs a gimbal mounted engine and propeller. You can control the stunt kite with the included transmitter; it has a radius of up to 500 foot. The wing is delta shaped and allows for quick loops, climbs and reliable tracking. The transmitter provides left, right, up and down trim for precision movements at speed.

The frame is made up of durable fiberglass and the natural curvature of the aerofoil provides extra lift. The flying time is not amazing at just eight minutes maximum; the good news is the charge time is only 20 minutes. The best conditions for flying are wind speeds under 10MPH. The transmitter is quite power hungry; requiring no less than eight AA batteries.

The price is fairly steep at $199.95, if you want to get your hands on one of these, head over to Hammacher Schlemmer.
