The interestingly named HTC Golf has just been revealed in an official photo, and it doesn’t have anything to do with the game of the same name. How disappointing that is, and it makes you wonder why they came up with the name in the first place. Perhaps the available and interesting names for new phones are running a bit low.
Anyway the handset is intended for those who are getting their first mobile, or maybe their first smartphone, as it turns out the Golf name is a codename. The real name will be Wildfire C, which puts it alongside some of the other Wildfire named phones on the market from HTC today.
It will have a camera on board which will have an adequate 5MP sensor – not bad for an entry level handset. In addition to this it has a 3.5 inch screen, keeping the phone fairly compact in size.
Other details are a little sketchy at present but the phone should also have a screen resolution of 480×320 pixels and just 512MB of RAM. It will feature a microSD card slot too, so you can expand on the built in storage.
There are no details on when the phone will actually hit the shelves, but it will be interesting to see how the handset compares to the other models in the Wildfire range. Will it persuade people to swap to HTC? We’ll see.
Do you own a HTC / Wildfire, what are your thoughts on this new addition?
