At least some of you readers will remember the famous song by the Beatles: “we all live in a yellow submarine”. What if you and two others- friends, family, whoever- can actually travel in a yellow submarine?
Triton Submarines LLC, the company that makes the Triton 3300/3 and positions it as the “world’s deepest-diving multi-passenger submersible”.
The Triton 3300/3 submersible is available to civilian buyers for recreational use. Of course, it’s not for the average Joe or Jane Blogg, considering that it will cost a significant sum of money to purchase- quite possibly, upwards of $750,000 (£500,000). Even at that price, it will take you 18 months from when you place the order to actually get your submersible.
If you own a yacht and let it out to tourists, then the Triton 3300/3 may well be an additional attraction for your prospective customers. After all, the opportunity to go down to the Mariana Trench, the deepest undersea point known to man is hard to resist. As a matter of fact, more humans have travelled in space than have set foot in the Mariana Trench.
It is often said that the world under the world’s oceans are much richer in flora and fauna. Even the richness of colours underwater rivals what is available on land. So if you are not that keen on exploring the Mariana Trench, you can always use the Triton 3300/3 to explore life under water at lower depths.
The Triton 3300/3 has a transparent dome made of very strong acrylic that is designed to withstand the enormous pressure that exists under water. Its design allows rapid descent as also rapid return to the surface.
