Game Strap Makes Train Travel More Fun

Every morning that I wake up, I say thank you to the big guy upstairs, because I only have to walk across the hall to my office – sometimes, if I’m feeling a little bit fragile I might even travel there whilst still wearing my pyjamas.

It hasn’t always been this way though. I used to commute and I hated it. I would get on to a train that had already been picking up passengers for over an hour, leaving me without a seat.

If I was lucky, I’d be able to lean against a wall on the train, but more often than not, I’d have to hold on to a rail, whilst bumping into an undoubtedly sweaty man each time the train sped up or slowed down.

Holding onto said bars also limited my options for pre work entertainment, you can’t play Angry Birds on your smartphone if you’ve only got one free hand.

Enter the game strap! This ingenious gadget, although still in its conceptual stages, will provide commuters with a great distraction on their way to work or on their way home. The strap which you use to hold on to the hand rail will be your touchscreen gaming platform.

There’s no word yet on titles for the device, but they will most likely be simple favourites like Tetris or Asteroids, but given time you may also find tilt control games – which may or may not be a welcome addition, depending on the bumpiness of your chosen ride.
