OnLive App: PC & Console Games on Your Tablet

| December 18, 2011 | Comments

Tablets are capable of some great things. They are fully functioning media marvels, but as much as we love our casual games like Angry Birds and Plants vs. Zombies, we’d all like something a bit more “high end” for our upmarket devices.

Consoles are so last year, and until we get a new one, tablet games are all we really care about. The trouble is, that as fabulous as tablet PCs and iPads are, they don’t have the power or abilities of an XBOX or a PS3.

Well the new OnLive app has found a way to take console titles and make them perfectly playable on your more portable devices. The OnLive system has been available for PCs and Macs for quite some time now, but had to be connected to a TV to work properly, which is a poor replacement for a console.

The new OnLive app for tablets takes advantage of the ever expanding cloud systems to deliver games to your iPhone, iPad, Kindles and whatever other devices you may have.

You just have to install the app on your device and then choose your games. It’s as easy as watching films through a Netflix or LoveFilm app. You don’t have to worry about losing your place within a game if you put it down either, the OnLive cloud tracks all of your progress.

The OnLive app is available now for free, with a separate charge for each game you choose to play. The  is also available now and currently retails at $49.99 (£39.99).
