Do you remember the Ghetto Blasters from the late eighties and early nineties? No, oh um, just me then. Well these bad boys could produce some serious sound.
Plus you looked really cool carrying one on your shoulder. OK, so maybe they weren’t the most attractive of items, and were of an age that hadn’t even conceived of an mp3, but they could produce a lot more sound than most of the iDevice docks that are currently on the market.
The award winning Behringer have noticed the volume problem that’s present in the currently available devices and have stepped in to bring some noise!
Even the name sounds loud – the iNuke Boom! You can attach your iPad, iPod or iPhone to the iNuke to really pump the bass on all those show tunes that you love so much.
There’s no word yet on compatibility with android devices, but it’s highly likely that there’ll be a 35mm jack hidden away somewhere. It isn’t a small device though, at over 4 foot tall and 8 foot wide, it’s larger than most children.
Although Behringer have often been seen as an affordable audio equipment company, the iNuke Boom has a price tag that’s as heavy as it 700lbs weight – a staggering $30,000 (£20,000).
So if you really need an added boost of sound in your life, start saving your pennies now or maybe spend those pennies on lottery tickets – that might be the quickest way to raise the funds. You’ll be able to check out the device at CES in Las Vegas next year.
