The popular Contour guys are now introducing the ContourROAM, which comes packing a rather sturdy looking design which is constructed of lovely aluminium that’s sure to give toughness and featherweight carrying loads.
Installed with a 170 degree lens that easily swivels, camera operators can simply focus this by employing the use of paired laser beam features included on different sides of the camera. Taking the ContourROAM under the water to a maximum depth of one metre is a synch (don’t do this longer than half an hour though or it will leak!) and for easy on and off operations, the one touch button saves a lot of clambering around that’s for sure.
As well as looking good and the ability to resist watery environments the Contour cam also packs a wallop with its 5MP still image capability and video features where 720, 960 and 1080p can be selected.
It can last on a charge around three hours, which is going to be enough for most whilst they film the sea life on holiday and the local beach bums. Storage can be expanded via a 32GB microSD card and whilst the Contour won’t be suitable for scuba fanatics, those surfer dudes wanting to catch the odd wave won’t go far wrong with this bit of kit and its pricing of around two hundred dollars.
